Recruitment & Career

How we care for our most valuable asset.

Career

Our employees are our most important resource. That is why competence development and personal growth are key to keeping people within the company and to recruiting new talented colleagues.

Collaboration with IHM Business School

In collaboration with IHM Business School, we run a tailored eight-day leadership program anchored in our FENA values. All managers and employees with leadership potential participate. The program’s overall goal is to create a shared approach to leadership throughout the organization.

“IHM has been fantastic. I’ve become more confident in myself and I don’t get stressed in situations where I used to. Before, I often felt the urge to escape difficult situations, but now I have the tools that make me feel secure instead.”
Project Manager

Individual development plan for white-collar employees

RO-Gruppen’s leadership program is part of our competence development initiative RO Academy, which aims to further develop, motivate, and ensure the quality of our employees. RO Academy includes a personal development plan for all white-collar staff. Each employee plans the coming year’s training and courses together with their manager. The People & Culture team then arranges the training based on the individual competence needs.

“Everything should lead to some kind of self-fulfillment. If salary alone had been most important, I would have switched companies more often. Here I feel I have the chance to develop and move into other roles.”
Site Manager

Craftsmen

Of our 300 employees, about 100 are craftsmen.

“Some projects require a higher share of skilled workers from us, otherwise we risk the projects not turning out as we want. Our craftsmen bring the expertise and dedication needed to deliver the high-quality results we strive for in every project.”
Leif Ahlberg, CEO

We run a wide variety of projects, from smaller tenant adaptations to larger new builds. Here, our craftsmen have the chance to be challenged and grow in their role by taking on a range of different tasks. And for those who want, there are opportunities to grow within RO-Gruppen – several of our successful site managers once started here as craftsmen.

Recruitment

“Hire for attitude, train for skill” – that’s our mindset when searching for new colleagues. For us, it’s crucial that a candidate works in a way that reflects our FENA values, rather than the specific skills they already possess. Skills can always be developed through training and good leadership.

FENA is an acronym of our four values: Trust, Commitment, Innovation, and Joy at Work. These values are also the qualities we look for in our employees, who we simply call FENOR.

Starting a new role at RO-Gruppen

A good first impression has a huge positive impact on how a new employee experiences their workplace. A well-planned onboarding process is key to making new colleagues feel welcome, valued, and quickly effective in their role. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive introduction process.

“I felt so well received! On my very first day, everything was ready – an office, computer, system access, and phone. In my experience, that’s unusual. And when I opened my computer and saw a photo of myself on the intranet – that was really something! It made me feel part of the company right away.”
